The "the No 1 Ladies Detective Agency" books are fun, set in Botswana so there's a summer feel. Charming humor and little mysteries mixed in. They're by Alexander McCall Smith.

Hmmmmmm.... what are you in the mood for? Literary depth or just some good, chick-lit-esque fun? I'm reading lots of pregnancy/baby mumbo jumbo right now, so I'm a bit clueless about what to suggest. My hubby, however, is reading The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo and says so far it is really good. It's gotten some amazing reviews, and I'm about to start that when he finishes. If you want a detective thriller, he's also been reading Michael Connelly's books (be prepared for some language) and says they are good reads. I'm also really in to Anita Shreve and Ann Tyler lately. They are beautiful writers, but the plots aren't that gripping--just character stories. Try one of their books if you want a read that won't really take you anywhere, but will make you think, "WHAT A BEAUTIFUL SENTENCE!" Good luck and let me know what you end up reading =-)

Angie and I just finished "The Hunger Games" and "Catching Fire", if you haven't already jumped on that band wagon!

"The Guernsey and Potato Peel Society" The title totally throws you off, but it is good! Also I have heard Hunger Games was amazing... so I need to jump on the bandwagon with that one!

The Help is a great read! Great discussion book too.

I'm liking "Mistborn" that Courtney recommended. It's fantasy mind you, but so far it's a good read.

Have you read The Book Thief? Beautiful.
Or some classics such as Jane Eyre.

Not literally. But literary...? hahah. Man, I've been away from blogs and feel like I've dropped the ball on this one. The last book I really liked was "The Help." Everyone's kind of reading it right now but it was a good read with good characters. I liked "A nortern light" by Jennifer Donnelly. It's just a short nice read. I loved Emily's and Stephanie's recommendations as well. I loved "The seer and the sword" by Victoria Hanley. Loved it. Or have you read "East" by Edith Pattou? I haven't read those in a while but loved them when i did.

Heidi turned me on to the "Mercy Thompson" series by Patricia Briggs. Easy read, ridiculous pics on the cover (which Heidi warned me of as they don't look like the actual character), but so entertaining!!! I have two of the latter books in the series if you want to borrow.

Feel free to check out my profile on Shelfari http://www.shelfari.com/o1517523960
I just recently figured out how to write reviews on the book s that I have read though I have rated them. I often go to shelfari to learn about new books myself.

I'm about to read Stieg Larsson's "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo". I hear it's awesome.

K so some good ones are the Theif by Megan Whalen Turner. There are four books and my sister says they are really good. I am on hold at the library. Then their is Eight Cousins and Rose In Bloom by Louisa May Alcott. I am almost done with Eight cousins, really cute book. Maximum Ride Series by James Patterson. It's a YA series my friend reccommended. I have one more for you but I forgot the name I will get it to you. have fun!!
