Our friends, the Mercuros, took some pretty funny pictures during our weekend trip.
When we first met up with them at their apartment, Scarlet decided this duster was the greatest thing in the entire world. She was a fan of Scott and Karisa from that moment on.
But if the magical duster wasn't enough, Scott sharing the last few drinks of his Juice it up definitely sealed their friendship for life.
Notice how she still has a tight grab on her pacifier? Yeah, she would stick it back in after every sip. A rare treat for a kid who usually has to wait until nap time to get it.
And not to be outdone in the battle for Scarlet's affections, Karisa pulled out the ultimate weapon: disney pixar shorts films on her iphone.
And we only got a few but here are some shots of the gang at the beach.

Summer Vacations
We have really had a fun month. A busy one, but full of a lot of travel and family time. My favorite things!
A few weeks ago, Scarlet, Courtney, and I headed up to Heber, Utah for the extended Earl family reunion. We got to stay and Ernie and Sylvia Smith's home up there. It was seriously nice. Not only was it enormous but it was by far the cleanest, most organized home I had ever been in. It was immaculate. Not the kind of house one feels to comfortable bringing their one year old in. Luckily they had the most adorable built in toy area in their basement that kept Scarlet occupied.
We had such a great time chatting with everyone. My younger cousins and Kendall kept taking off with Scarlet for hours at a time which was so awesome. What a nice break. On Sunday, we got to go over to Cali's and chat some more. Sadly, at some point, Scarlet's face found the pavement.
These are from Kristy's cell phone. It actually looked even worse up close. For a week, people would see her in the store or wherever we were and say, "wow you took a bad fall didn't you?" Makes you feel like a really good mom inside...
Luckily I'm still pretty sure she had a great time.
We also got to jet off to California for the weekend. We were in need of some beach time before the summer was over. I was a little concerned that Scarlet wouldn't enjoy the beach as much as the rest of us but I greatly underestimated the fun and amusement of digging in the sand. The surf was a little rough for her (perfect for Jon) but with plastic spoon, water bottle, or random trash in hand, she was extremely excited to dig and throw sand. Now she has the cutest little swim suit tan line. Thank goodness she got her dad's skin.
We did a horrible job taking picture of the trip. But here are a few.
When we got back, Brandon Earl and his girlfriend and Britney and Jason were in town. They came over Sunday night and we had a great time catching up with them.
Now our summer seems to be wrapping up. With baby number two on his way in a few weeks we are probably done traveling for awhile. Back to work on the house!
