It all started Wednesday morning. Rhode had just woken up and was standing in the kitchen, waiting for breakfast. When, all of a sudden, he turned to me and said very clearly, "mama pee pee!"
I decided to humor him and stuck him on the potty. That is when I noticed his diaper was dry... and then I noticed the potty was suddenly full of pee.
What?
I praised him up and down the house and he got his own special potty treats (3 jelly beans) for being such a big boy. I left him bottomless for the time being.
He proceeded to pee in the potty all day long.
I really could not even believe it. His diaper was even dry post-nap and the following morning!The next morning, I talked him into wearing a pair of underwear. He peed in them almost instantly.
So we stuck with the half-naked approach.
It has been the most insane thing. My 22 month old potty trained himself. If I could buy the kid a car, I just might do it.

Yes, I hate you. Emerson has no idea at all when he pees and we've been trying to sit him on the potty now for at least two months. Diaper is as full as a softball when he wakes up in the morning. NO FAIR!!! LOL :)

Congrats!! You are so lucky to not have to buy diapers for a while. Plus, that is a really cute little butt running around your house.

Ok so I totally know how you feel because Ali has been doing the same stuff...Yes she is older than Rhode, but I had no desire to start her doing it while Ben was still this small since it's always while I'm breastfeeding that Ethan has to go..and I didn't want two of them to be having to go at the same time too but it's so much easier!! LOVE IT!!
GO RHODE! That is the best. It was so fun to spend time with you at Seaside. Have fun on your big trip soon!
So I do kinda hate you but Easton has been doing the same thing, mama pee pee, just when his diaper has exploded with pee and his clothes are all wet. Who knows, maybe I'll get as lucky!
